On Dec. 28, Muskego police were called to a residence in the S8100 block of Brennan Drive after two people there reported their cars had been broken into and electronic devices stolen out of them. A third person at the residence told police he saw a man crouching next to one of the cars five minutes before they called and showed them which way the man went.

Officers found footprints leading to Larson’s car parked nearby, then followed the tracks further, which eventually led to Larson, who was standing next to a fence behind two pine trees trying to hide.

Officers found the stolen items in his pockets and he confessed him and Hurdy had come to the area to break into cars.

A Waukesha County sheriff’s deputy was able to track Hurdy with night vision goggles and found him in the W17500 block of Haven Court. The officer told him to stop, but Hurdy tried to run until he tripped and fell.

The two men will make their initial appearance in court April 2
