Where to Watch the Steeler Defeat
Local pubs and restaurants roll out the green & gold carpet with big TVs, specials, and giveaways.
After shopping the super bowl specials around Muskego, it becomes clear that if you go hungry on Sunday, there's no one to blame but yourself. Here are our top five favorites for where to take in the big game. You probably won't need to bring much money, but do bring an appetite - and a designated driver.
- Muskego’s High Tide is the relatively new kid in the block in Muskego, but is nonetheless eager to debut with specials on drinks and free vittles. With every Packer TD, patrons can enjoy a free shot; $3 bloodies were also the cheapest we came across. Free food at half time and raffles throughout the game make this a great opening night.
- Marx’ Pioneer Inn: Call it a game within a game, or call it fun, Marx will be handing every patron a raffle ticket and a shot glass when they walk in the door. So far, good. When the Packers score a touchdown, a raffle number is called. The lucky winner receives the Packer rock, which bestows upon them the ability to drink for free (whatever they were drinking at the time) until the next touchdown is scored. All patrons enjoy a free shot for every Packer TD. At halftime, enjoy complimentary pulled pork sandwiches and pizza.
- Tres Locos makes our list for throwing a party without forgetting what they’re about. Free chili will be served right off the bat because why wait until halftime? Complimentary nachos will be in the offing as well. It’s an indoor tailgate, so they’re also including $1 brats, dogs and sliders throughout the game. We’re sensing a pattern here, but Packer touchdowns also net patrons a free shot.
- Muskego Lakes Country Club: A $20 investment in their prime rib and baked chicken buffet also garners you a seat near a big screen TV, raffle drawings and can beer for only $2. If you aren’t still full from the first round of eats, free pizza will be served at halftime. Golfers can also enter a separate drawing for one month of free golfing, and a 50/50 cash raffle and meat raffle is also being offered. Reserve a table by calling 414-425-6500.
- Bushy’s Pub & Grill: No mistake that the places with the best deals make the best place to go for the Super Bowl. If you can’t wait for the free spaghetti dinner at halftime, which includes meatballs, Italian sausage, salad and bread, nosh on some cheap appetizers starting at 4pm: 30-cent chicken wings (minimum of 15 per order), and our favorite, “The Big Mix,” which offers six different appetizers on a platter that we’re told will feed four people for only $10. Drinkside there is the obligatory free shot with every Packer TD, but also $6 pitchers of domestic beer and $2.50 pints of the same.
