To "generate awareness and support the fight against breast cancer," the is now adorned with a six-foot-tall ribbon sculpture, created by Milwaukee-area artist Pamela Higgins. The sculpture is one of 17 on display throughout the area, each depicting the artists’ personal connections to breast cancer.
According to a release from Kohl's, "the 'Every Ribbon Tells a Story' initiative demonstrates that just as each ribbon sculpture is unique, so is each person’s experience with breast cancer." Higgins' sculpture is titled, "Candy Stripers of the Past & Volunteers of the Present."
The sculptures rest under the pink glow of Kohl's signs, which have special gel sheeting placed over them, now through the end of October and at Race for the Cure Sunday, September 25.
