Woman Charged With Stealing Jewelry from Muskego Home

Complaint alleges the suspect, 22, stole the items while visiting her baby at the residence.

A 22-year-old South Milwaukee woman is facing charges for allegedly stealing jewelry from a Muskego woman who holds custody of her daughter.

Melissa A. Ferrito was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of theft of movable property valued at more than $5,000. If convicted, she could face up to 42 months in prison and $10,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, on Dec. 7 the victim noticed a necklace valued at $5,725 missing from her residence, which was a day Ferrito was able to visit her daughter at the home.

Ferrito admitted to the theft, the complaint stated, and told the woman she had pawned it in order to collect money to help pay for her baby.
