Accidental Firearm Discharge + Hit And Run: Police Logs

NEW BERLIN, WI — New Berlin police responded to several calls for service in the past week. Here are a few highlights from the department's online police log from Jan. 24 to Feb. 3.

Accidental Firearm Discharge

No injuries were reported after a resident on 12600 National Avenue reported the accidental discharge of a firearm on Monday, logs said.

Car Hits Car, Flees

A hit and run accident where a vehicle struck the back of another car and fled was reported on Jan. 24 near Calhoun Road and Cleveland Avenue, logs said.

Groceries Taken From Apartment Entrance

Someone took groceries out of a package that was delivered to the entryway of an apartment building on 3500 Deer Creek Parkway on Tuesday, logs said.

Retail Theft, Delinquency of a Minor

A Milwaukee woman was arrested on Saturday at a business on 4700 Moorland Road for retail theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, logs said.

A Milwaukee woman was also arrested at the same time and location for retail theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, bail jumping and several warrants, logs said.

Man Arrested For OWI After Car Accident

A Waukesha man was arrested on Jan. 28 near Coffee Road and Heide Lane for OWI-3rd offense after a two-vehicle accident, logs said.

Mailbox Damaged

A resident on 5300 La Salle Drive reported damage to her mailbox on Jan. 25 after she heard loud noises and saw two older vehicles outside, logs said.

Someone Tries To Enter OAW Sports Complex After Hours

A man attempted to enter the OAW Sports Complex around 1 a.m. on Jan. 24 by pulling on every door, logs said.

Items Stolen From Vehicle

A resident on 1400 Coachlight Avenue said someone stole multiple items from his vehicle at some point between Jan. 20 and 24, logs said.
