1. New Berlin Common Council holds special session on petitions to remove mayor (tmj4.com) — New Berlin residents packed a special Common Council session seeking answers about petitions to remove Mayor David Ament after his controversial anti-Muslim and misogynistic Facebook reposts, but aldermen emerged from closed session without public discussion. Community members, including a longtime New Berlin resident and the Muslim Women's Coalition director, voiced frustration and demanded clearer action and accountability from city leaders.
2. Wisconsin's Best High Schools Ranked In New Analysis (patch.com) — Eisenhower Middle/High School in the New Berlin School District earned an A grade in Niche's new 2027 rankings of Wisconsin's best public high schools, placing it among the top-rated schools statewide. The list compares schools using academics, diversity, teachers, and parent and student reviews, helping New Berlin families gauge how their local options stack up across Wisconsin.
3. New Berlin library adds color analysis kits for checkout (cbs58.com) — New Berlin Public Library now lets you check out two different color analysis kits through its Library of Things, free with a valid card. Each kit helps you discover your best seasonal or sub-seasonal color palette, but must be returned within seven days directly to the circulation desk, not the book drop.
4. Cross Country: Watertown boys, Lakeside girls win small division titles at Laser Relays (wdtimes.com) — Area runners turned in strong performances at the Pete Nielsen Laser Relays in Delafield, where Watertown's boys and Lakeside Lutheran's girls captured small-division titles. New Berlin West's boys and girls both placed well in the team standings, giving New Berlin families a solid snapshot of how their cross-country squads stack up early in the season.
