Fire Temporarily Closes Mary's Caddyshack

No injuries were reported in a fire at Mary's Caddyshack Wednesday. The business will remain closed for restoration after the fire.

NEW BERLIN, WI β€” A fire broke out Wednesday and has temporarily closed Mary's Caddyshack restaurant, according to a news release from the New Berlin Fire Department.

Wednesday afternoon a fire broke out inside the walls and concealed spaces near the business's entrance. The fire expanded to the soffit and roofline. No injuries were reported.

"Everyone is safe, just a mess!" the business wrote on Facebook after the fire.

When the New Berlin Fire Department arrived firefighters saw a light haze of smoke inside the building and heard crackling wood near the southwest entrance, the news release said.

Multiple units responded to the fire with help from nearby departments. The extreme heat from the weather necessitated further help from local departments to keep water flowing. The fire's cause is under investigation but is not suspicious, the news release said.

The restaurant will remain closed for restoration but the owner told the New Berlin Fire Department she intends to re-open, according to the news release.
