Food Disposal Hours Extended For New Berlin Residents

The New Berlin Recycling Center will continue to accept food disposal due to widespread power outages after storms last week.

NEW BERLIN, WI β€” The New Berlin Recycling Center will have special hours this week to accommodate food disposal due to power outages last week.

If a fridge was without power for more than four hours, most items are recommended to be thrown out, according to a news release from the New Berlin Mayor's Office. Dumpsters at the recycling center will be dedicated to food disposal on Tuesday Aug. 17 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. The recycling center is located at 3711 S Casper Drive in New Berlin.

The recycling center will continue to be open for regularly accepted items such as household and yard waste. To drop off items at the center one must show proof of New Berlin residency.
