Plans for the Activity and Recreation Center at 15321 National Avenue materialized in September of 2020. The building, which is being repurposed from a former Walmart, would serve as a hub for the New Berlin Recreation Department. Numerous courses and activities are planned for the building.
New Berlin residents will be able to not just practice fitness but participate in camps, art classes, music classes and more. A gymnastics space, dance studio and indoor playground are also planned for the new facility, according to the city's website.
