Mail Possibly Stolen From New Berlin Industrial Park: Police

An officer on patrol Monday morning saw someone attempting to steal mail from businesses in an industrial park, police said in a statement.

NEW BERLIN, WI β€” A New Berlin Police Officer saw someone that was possibly stealing mail from business mailboxes in a New Berlin industrial park near 170th Street and West Lincoln Avenue early Monday morning, according to a statement posted to the Department's Facebook.

The officer's observations around 1:45 a.m. led him to believe an unknown number of people in a silver GMC Acadia were taking mail from the businesses. The vehicle fled the scene after the officer arrived and police began a pursuit, but the pursuit was terminated and the vehicle got away, according to the statement.

Police asked businesses in the area that are aware of any missing mail or any associated identity theft or fraud to file a report with the department using reference case number E21025459. Police also said in the statement they are looking for copies of video footage from the area that may have captured the incident.
