NEW BERLIN, WI β ABB Inc. has proposed a new headquarters and production facility in New Berlin to replace the current production plant on Glendale Drive, according to a report from the Milwaukee Business Journal.
The company submitted a plan to the city last week. The new plant would be for a part of the company focused on producing electric motors. The new facility would create a largely automated assembly line, research labs, customer and training centers and the headquarters for part of ABB Inc's U.S. operation, the Milwaukee Business Journal reported.
The plant would employ about 700 people, mostly in offices but about 172 manufacturing jobs would exist at the planned 270,800 square foot facility, according to the Business Journal's report.
