New Berlin Man Charged With 11 Counts Of Child Pornography

The man was charged last week in Waukesha County Court and faces child pornography, THC and drug paraphernalia charges.

NEW BERLIN, WI β€” A New Berlin man is facing charges of 11 counts of child pornography, according to online court records. Charges were filed in Waukesha County Court last week, with each carrying the possibility of 25 years in jail.

Spencer Charles Garvens, 27, is accused of knowingly possessing child pornography. He is also charged with possession of THC and drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed in court on Sept. 23.

If Garvens is convicted, his charges could each mandate a minimum of three years in prison. He is expected back in court for an initial appearance on Oct. 7.

To be convicted, Wisconsin law stipulates that Garvens "knows or reasonably should know that the child depicted in the material who is engaged in sexually explicit conduct has not attained the age of 18 years."
