New Berlin Power Outage Caused By Semi Truck Striking Wire

An outage that affected hundreds in New Berlin Tuesday afternoon was due to a semi truck striking a wire, police said.

NEW BERLIN, WI β€” A truck struck a wire near 16680 Cleveland Avenue in New Berlin and caused power outages for hundreds of We Energies customers Monday afternoon.

Around noon a semi truck collided with a wire on Cleveland Avenue. We Energies was on scene shortly after, according to New Berlin Police Department Captain Mike Glider. We Energies outages maps showed up to 600 residents near the truck crash were without power.

Power has since been restored to those areas, We Energy Outage maps showed at 3 p.m.
