NEW BERLIN, WI β€” New Berlin West Middle/High School announced Wednesday it sold the naming rights for the fieldhouse to Drexel Building Supply for $150,000.

The fieldhouse will have signage installed around the inside and outside of the venue. The planned name is "Drexel Fieldhouse β€” Home of the Vikings," according to a news release from the School District.

"The financial impact of an agreement of this magnitude is substantial on its own, but this agreement is so much more than just a financial boost for the District," Superintendent Joe Garza said in the news release. "Drexel, having just relocated to New Berlin, will be a great resource for our students in our trade classes, the teachers that teach them and our buildings and grounds employees. They will be more than just great partners, they will be great neighbors."

Drexel Building Supply, founded in 1985, employs 60 people at a location on Coffee Road. The business has eight locations beyond New Berlin's. Details of a dedication event will be announced later, the news release said.

"The SDNB provided us with a unique way to immediately give back to the New Berlin community and we jumped on it," said Joel Fleischman, owner of Drexel Building Supply. We’re proud to be a supporter of West’s athletics programs, but we’re equally committed to supporting students who are interested in the trades and other areas of business become successful once they graduate."
