100 MPH Truck Driver Couldn't Escape Oak Creek Police: Report

When police responded, an officer attempted a traffic stop, only to have the driver flee at more than 100 miles per hour.

OAK CREEK, WI -- Police in Oak Creek say the driver of a pickup truck that fled police at more than 100 miles per hour during the early morning hours of July 5 couldn't get away, after officers found the driver at his home and had his truck towed.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, a 911 caller reported that the driver of a Ford pickup truck had been driving all over the road in the area of S. 27th Street and W. Ryan Road just after 2 a.m. on July 5.

When police responded, an officer attempted a traffic stop, only to have the driver flee at more than 100 miles per hour. A police pursuit was started at 13th St. and W. Drexel Ave., however the driver did not pull over. The pursuit was ended at E. Drexel Ave. and S. Chicago Road in South Milwaukee after officers lost sight of the vehicle.

Police call logs show that police did catch up to the driver, a 33-year-old man, at his South Milwaukee home. Police said the man didn't respond when officers knocked on his door.

According to police call logs, officers had the man's vehicle towed with the intention of holding the vehicle in police custody until the driver contacted authorities in Oak Creek.
