$20K In Tools, Material Stolen In Oak Creek: Report

OAK CREEK, WI -- Contractors working on an Oak Creek construction project say they are out nearly a combined $20,000 in materials after an apparent theft in Oak Creek this week.

According to police reports, a project manager for the Waters of Oak Creek building, 8000 S. Market St., called police, stating that a trailer at the job site was entered, and that wires and tools were stolen.

Reports indicated that the electrical contractor had thousands of feet of rolled wire as well as cables stolen. The missing materials were estimated to be worth between $12,000 and $15,000.
Reports also said that the project's plumbing contractor was missing about $5,000 in copper piping.

According to police reports, the project manager told police they would take further measures to secure all equipment and valuable items.

The manager stated there were no signs of forced entry and suspected someone had a key to the trailer at the time of the theft, reports stated.
