20th Street Pot Bust Started As Car Noise Complaint: Police

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police say they responded to a noise disturbance due to people playing loud music outside on the 9400 block of S. 20th Street just before 3 a.m. on April 8.

Police reported that the vehicle had no front license plate, tinted windows, with people inside. Police talked with the vehicle's occupants, who told officers that they were on their way to Illinois, became tired, pulled off the road and were unable to rent a hotel room because they lacked a credit card.
The occupants of the vehicle said they decided to park and sleep in the lot overnight. According to reports, police detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Reports stated that all occupants of the car were searched and one man admitted he had a 3.6-gram bag of marijuana in his pants pocket. A purple, metallic marijuana grinder was also located and seized by police.
