239 Gallons Of Gas Spilled In Tanker Truck Collision: Report
The driver of a fuel tanker called 911 stating that another tanker backed into him, and that "a lot of gasoline was spilling out."

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek fire and police departments responded to the Pilot Travel Center, 2031 W. Ryan Rd. at midnight on April 21 on a report of a fuel spill and an accident.
According to reports, the driver of a fully-loaded gasoline fuel tanker called 911 stating that another tanker backed into him, and that "a lot of gasoline was spilling out."
Reports indicated that when police responded to the gas station, the officer saw that fuel was gushing out of the tanker, into the storm sewer and into the street gutter.

The Oak Creek Fire Department, which had command of the incident, called for the Hazmat hazardous materials response unit to respond to the scene to abate the flow of 93 octane unleaded gasoline from the tanker truck.
After an investigation, it was determined that 239 gallons of fuel was spilled from the tanker's damaged fuel compartment, according to police reports.

Reports went on to say that the damaged tanker's remaining load was transferred to another truck. A detailed truck inspection was conducted by a WSP commercial inspector, who determined that the truck's brakes had been functioning normally at the time of the crash, however, that the striking truck had other issues that required it to be placed out-of-service until repairs could be made.
