Amazon Construction Making 13th Street A 'Muddy Mess'
Construction of the Amazon distribution center is continuing, but residents are saying it's making a mess of things on 13th Street.

OAK CREEK, WI -- Authorities say wet weather and heavy construction traffic on S. 13th Street near the construction of the Amazon Fulfillment Center are to blame for the abnormally muddy road conditions there - and that officials are working to keep the roads as clear as possible.
According to Oak Creek police call logs, a resident in the area called authorities at just after 11:30 a.m. on May 30 on a report that there was so much mud on the road that it was hard to see the road and, in turn, difficult to drive upon.

Police said they spoke the Amazon construction site supervisor had one employee dedicated to street sweeping 10 hours a day and a second employee who spends five hours a day wetting and sweeping area roads as much as possible.
When speaking with the supervisor, he also said that given the volume of rain, and the roughly 200 trucks that pass to-and-from the area, that they were doing the best they could to keep the roads clear.
According to police call logs, Oak Creek Police Chief Steven Anderson called the Ryan Companies - the contractor at Amazon in charge of the street sweepers. Police call logs noted that Oak Creek police were dispatched to oversee that road cleanup was properly completed.
