Update: The splash pad is up and working again, according to a further post from Oak Creek.
OAK CREEK, WI — The splash pad located at Drexel Town Square, only days after it reopened, has been closed again for repairs, according to a Facebook post from the City of Oak Creek.
Oak Creek announced Tuesday that the splash pad is closed again for repairs, but it should only be down for a day or so, the post said. The splash pad was reopened over Memorial Day weekend this year after the city had turned it off all of last summer due to pandemic concerns.
The splash pad was open over the weekend but will be closed until further notice.
The splash pad is a public, interactive water park where people can press buttons to change water cycles and sprays. Kids can play about its water streams while adults relax on the sidelines.
It was closed last season due to the pandemic but opened back up on Saturday. The splash pad faced complaints in prior seasons that it was too slippery, but the City has since repaired it.
