Attempted Carjacking At TJ Maxx Parking Lot: Report
According to police reports, a person who called 911 said that someone tried to steal her car in the parking lot of TJ Maxx.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek responded to the 8500 block of S. Howell Ave. just before 7 p.m. on Aug. 17 on a report of an attempted robbery.

According to reports, the woman spoke with police, reporting that a man came up to her while she was putting things in the trunk of her vehicle, and told her to get into the car.

Reports stated that she refused to get into the car, at which point the man asked two times for her keys before running off to the north.
Police reported that they ended up finding the suspect, later identified as Demetrius L. McKinnie of Milwaukee, hiding out behind DiCarlo.

Police said that McKinnie also had a warrant out for his arrest through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for armed robbery. He was transported to the Milwaukee County Jail.
