Whether experienced or a newbie, expectant mothers find many benefits in practicing yoga throughout pregnancy. Breathwork (pranayama) alone helps relax and calm the nervous system, lowers blood pressure and heart rate and is a helpful tool during labor. The physical practice (asana) helps increase circulation, improves balance, builds strength and helps relieve tension. Most of all, yoga throughout pregnancy provides a wonderful opportunity to bond with baby and also nurture yourself during this transformative, life-changing time.
