Blue Bat Kitchen & Tequilaria Opens New Riverwalk Patio

Blue Bat Kitchen & Tequilaria offers more than 160 tequilas and seating over the Milwaukee River for the first time.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Blue Bat Kitchen & Tequilaria, 249 N. Water, in Milwaukee's Third Ward, is opening its popular riverfront patio after the restaurant opened in April and underwent renovations.

Restaurant staff told Patch that after Blue Bat Kitchen & Tequilaria moved into the former site of Water Buffalo, they needed various city permits and remodeling tasks to complete before welcoming customers back onto the water.

“We are so excited to see life and enjoyment back on our popular patio,” says John Walch, president of Hospitality Democracy in a prepared statement. “I can’t think of a better way to enjoy a summer evening than a tequila flight and some delicious bites on Blue Bat Kitchen’s vibrant patio. We are looking forward to sharing all the unique elements of Blue Bat under the stars.”

The large patio with access from the restaurant’s riverfront level provides an opportunity for people to enjoy the summer while dining al fresco. The spaces will continue to see upgrades and improvements throughout the season and into next summer, making this patio among the Third Ward's finest.

Blue Bat features fresh, global street food in a casual environment that pairs with Milwaukee’s very first Tequilaria — offering more than 160 tequilas.
