Book Sale, Blues Band, Lemonade: This Weekend In Oak Creek
The Oak Creek Farmers Market returns to Drexel Town Square with a few additions, the beer garden stays and a motorcycle ride comes to town.

OAK CREEK, WI — This weekend in Oak Creek there will be many of the staple events. The beer garden at Abendschien Park will stick around until Saturday and a couple new things are coming to the farmers market.
As the school season creeps closer and closer, check out these weekend events in Oak Creek to soak up the last few weekends of summer. Also of note: a rare blue moon will appear over Oak Creek this weekend.

The beer garden at Abendschien Park will be open tonight. It will continue to offer beer, sausages and giant pretzels until Saturday evening.
Saturday

A professional, blind skateboarder will be paying a visit to Abendschien Park Saturday morning until the afternoon. His name is Dan Mancina and he'll be a part of the celebration for the recently reopened skatepark.
The Farmers Market returns Saturday as well. The Friends of the Library will host a book sale at the market. A lemonade fundraiser for farmers will also be put up.
The book sale will also bring CDs and VHS tapes. Music will be provided by local band Casual Intent, "a blues, Motown and reggae cover band," the market newsletter said.
The lemonade sale and raffle will go to benefit Pinehold Gardens, a local Oak Creek farm in need of support. The owners lost 60 percent of their land, affected them and others who depend on their vegetables, according to the market's newsletter.
The market runs 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in Drexel Town Square.
Sunday
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported a motorcycle ride for disabled veterans will be kicking off in Oak Creek on Sunday. VIPER, which stands for "Visually Impaired Patriots Experiencing The Road," will start a multi-hour long motorcycle ride in Oak Creek at American Legion Post 434, located at 9327 Shepard Avenue, the Journal Sentinel reported.

A rare blue moon will be visible in the skies over Wisconsin on Sunday.
The blue moon will adorn the night sky on Sunday. The last seasonal blue moon occurred on Halloween in 2020. Read more about the blue moon here.
