Pewaukee, WIS. – The Waukesha-Ozaukee-Washington Workforce Development Board will hold a graduation ceremony for Building Futures participants on December 16 from 4-5 p.m. at the Waukesha County Workforce Development Center in Pewaukee.

Building Futures is a training and employment program for young adults between the ages of 18-24. During the program, participants receive 6 months of academic education and hands-on carpentry training, providing an opportunity to earn a GED or HSED as well as employer recognized certificates. In addition, case management and leadership skills training are provided, which includes career exploration and job preparation activities as well as connections to post-secondary schools and area employers.

Building Futures is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration and the Greater Milwaukee Foundation. The Waukesha-Ozaukee-Washington Workforce Development Board operates Building Futures in partnership with the Waukesha County Technical College and the Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha County.
