Burst Pipes Cause Trouble At Several Oak Creek Places: Report

OAK CREEK, WI -- After our area's recent cold snap, a number of places in Oak Creek reported burst pipes.
On Friday, Feb. 1, police responded to the Towne Place Suites on the 7900 block of S. Market Street on a report that a water pipe burst in the hotel's pool room. The Oak Creek Fire Department shut off the water valves. A short time later, hotel guests were informed by management that there was no longer any issue and that they could return to their rooms.
At just before 3 a.m., on Feb. 1, police and fire responded to the Booth Manor on the 100 block of W. Centennial Drive on a report that a sprinkler system pipe burst and that a large amount of water was pooling on the floor. Reports indicated that several units had water inside as a result of the incident.

The Oak Creek Fire Department responded to the Oak Creek Police Department headquarters at just after 8 p.m. on Jan. 31 on a report of a burst pipe. Reports indicated that a sprinkler system in the department's lobby burst, causing water to pool up in the lobby area. Fire department personnel shut off the water and building maintenance was notified of the problem.
On Jan. 30, police responded to a residence on the 200 block of E. Rawson Ave. on a report of a burst pipe. According to reports, the pipe was causing the home owner's basement to flood. The Oak Creek Fire Department responded to shut off the water. According to reports, the resident was given a verbal warning for originally providing a false name to authorities. Reports stated the home owner thought he had a warrant out for his arrest.
