The Case of the Missing Oak Creek Gnomes

Over the past week, 10 of her garden gnomes, a bird bath, a crystal garden ball and a 100-pound deer were all missing from her yard.

OAK CREEK, WI — In the end, nobody could find the gnomes.

An Oak Creek resident on the 6600 block of S. Pennsylvania Ave. called police on Aug. 22 just ater 5 p.m. on a report that her lawn ornaments were stolen.

According to reports, over the past week, 10 of her garden gnomes, a bird bath, a crystal garden ball and a 100-pound deer were all missing from her landscaped yard.

The report indicated that all of the items were taken from a landscaped-type garden on the side of her residence.

The officer investigating the resident's claim contacted a neighbor, who stated they hadn't seen anything. The officer reported walking the block and surrounding neighborhood, but did not see any stockpiles of gnomes.

The residents were advised to put up a wildlife camera and to call police if they see anyone in their yard in the future.
