Couple Hid Marijuana In Sleeping 2-Year-Old's Crib: Report

Police said when officers knocked on the hotel room door, a man answered back, saying his wife was naked and that he needed to put pants on.

OAK CREEK, WI — A couple staying at the Oak Creek Motel 6 got in trouble with the law after police say they were smoking marijuana and hid some of their material in the crib where their two-year-old child was sleeping.

Police in Oak Creek responded to the Motel 6 on W. College Ave. just after 3 a.m. on April 26 on a report of someone smoking marijuana in their room.

According to reports, when officers knocked on the hotel room door, a man answered back, saying his wife was naked and that he needed to put some pants on.

When the door opened, police reported that the man and women were clothed, their two-year-old child was alseep in a pack-and-play crib, and there was a "strong odor of marijuana" in the hotel room, police said.

According to reports, as officers began to search the room, they saw an ashtray that had about 20 marijuana blunt ends on it. When police searched the pack-and-play, they found a jar that contained five grams of marijuana and two packages of cigars that are commonly used to make marijuana blunts.

The man was arrested and cited for marijuana possession, and the mother was allowed to stay with her child in the hotel room, reports stated.
