Dog Gets 10-Day In-Home Quarantine For Biting Child: Report

OAK CREEK, WI -- Police in Oak Creek responded to a residence on the 8000 block of S. 13th St. just after noon on Sep. 4 on a report of an animal bite complaint.
According to police reports, a German Shepherd bit a child on the hands and palms and forearms after the dog was interacting with the child in the residence.
According to police, an officer ordered that the dog be restricted through a 10-day in-home quarantine. The boy was transported by the Oak Creek Fire Department to Wheaton Franklin for bite treatment.

When police questioned the parents at the residence, they reportedly told police that the dog is highly protective of a child who was in the bathroom.
The parent told police that the child who was bit was trying to pull the dog by the collar, while the other child was in the bathroom.
