Plans go before city officials on July 26. Oak Creek's retail center becoming a regional development hot spot.

OAK CREEK -- The developers of Oak Creek's Drexel Town Square are seeking approval for three more buildings that will add more space for retail stores and restaurants.

The plans go before the Oak Creek Plan Commission on July 26, and the buildings would be located between the apartments and Drexel Avenue.

According to a report by the Milwaukee Business Journal, two of the buildings would have retailers with front doors opening onto the sidewalks of Main Street on one side, adding to the urban feel of Drexel Town Square. But they also have more suburban-style parking lots on the opposite end of the buildings.

A building on the west side of Main street has outdoor seating, suggesting another restaurant. The others would be multitenant retail buildings, the Business Journal has reported. The plan also calls for a third building facing Drexel Avenue a little farther off of the west side of Main Street.
