Drexel Town Square Splash Pad Now Open Again
After slips, trips and falls closed the splash pad in June, it re-opens in July with modified hours and a safer walking surface.
OAK CREEK -- Great news for anyone wanting to beat the heat this week, the splash pad in Drexel Town Square is now open as of today (July 6), with modified hours of operation from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily.
According to a WISN report in June, a city spokesperson said officials were working on installing a rubberized surface to help prevent falls.

Oak Creek's new splash pad, located on Drexel Town Square, had been closed through the end of June after residents brought their concerns to the city that the cement becomes too slippery when wet.

"Please understand that we are reviewing the site to ensure that we can make it as safe as possible for those that come to use this amenity," reads a post on the city's Facebook page at the time.
