Driver Of Stolen Car Arrested At Gunpoint In Oak Creek: Police

The officer approached the driver, who was taken into custody at gunpoint on suspicion of possession of stolen property.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek say they arrested the driver of a stolen car at Gunpoint on Saturday at the Red Roof Inn.

According to police reports, an officer on patrol located a stolen vehicle at the Red Roof Inn just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday. The officer saw a man walk up to the vehicle, unlock the door and get behind the wheel.

The officer approached the driver, who was taken into custody at gunpoint on suspicion of possession of stolen property.

Reports indicated that the man told police that he was staying with his girl "China" in one of the hotel rooms. Police spoke with "China" in the hotel room, who told police that she rented the car from a friend earlier in the day for $50 and was later driven to the Red Roof Inn.

Police also arrested "China" and the two suspects were issued a court date for Dec. 21 at the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office.

Police reports state that the owner of the vehicle was notified of its recovery and that the front license plate of the vehicle was still missing.
