Traffic was backed up near the Ryan Road ramp in Oak Creek after the single-vehicle accident was reported this morning.

OAK CREEK -- An accident on I-94 near Ryan Road in Oak Creek has been cleared - but not before Oak Creek police and fire and others had to cut through 200 feet of thick brush, trees and fences to recover the vehicle.
According to the Oak Creek Fire Department, the driver of a black SUV heading northbound on I-94 left the roadway near the Ryan Road ramp just before 9 a.m. due to an unspecified medical emergency.
The vehicle then traveled off the road, careening into an area of dense trees, brush, fencing and wires. It took rescue workers about two hours of steady work, employing chain saws, saws-alls and wire cutters to clear an exit path for the vehicle.
