Drug Take Back Event Planned For April 30 In Oak Creek

The Oak Creek Police Department has planned a prescription drug take-back event in Oak Creek.

OAK CREEK, WI — The Oak Creek Police Department is planning to hold a drug take-back event on April 30 at Pick 'n Save at 8770 Howell Avenue.

People will be able to dispose of expired or unwanted medications at the event in a safe manner, saving the medications from the possibility of being flushed or disposed of improperly. The department says in a Facebook event the drug takeback will occur from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the corner of Howell and Puetz.

Possible items to bring include prescriptions, over-the-counter meds, ointments, patches, non-aerosol sprays, inhalers, creams, vials and pet medications. Police have asked people to not bring any sharps to the event.

If you miss this upcoming event, you can also always drop off unwanted medications in a drop box in the lobby of the Oak Creek Police Department during regular business hours, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The station is located at 301 West Ryan Road.
