Drunk Driver Arrested For 6th OWI, Fleeing At 90 MPH: Sheriff
A witness told the deputy that he saw a car collide with some road signs, and continued driving even after the windshield was smashed.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek helped Racine County authorities arrest a drunk driver who fled deputies at 90 miles per hour, drove on the wrong side of the road, knocked over road signs and then tried fleeing on foot at the Oak Creek Colder's, according to authorities.
On Monday, Dec. 4, at about 1:20 p.m., a Racine County Sheriff's deputy was approached by a person on 7 Mile Road near the East Frontage road in Caledonia. The witness told the deputy that he saw a car collide with some road signs, and continued driving even after the windshield was smashed.
According to sheriff's officials, the deputy spotted the driver, a 36-year-old man, and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The man's vehicle slowed but failed to stop.

Just as the suspect's car slowed to a crawl in front of the patrol squad, he rapidly accelerated, pulling away from the officer on the wrong side of the road.
According to sheriff's officials, the deputy pursued the man north into Oak Creek, reaching 90 miles per hour at one point. He then suddenly pulled into the Colder's furniture store on S. 13th St.

Sheriff's officials reported that the deputy waited at the entrance to the parking lot for additional squads from Oak Creek police. The suspect was located and taken into custody by an Oak Creek police officer a short distance away.
According to reports, the man was taken into custody on suspicion of fleeing an eluding a traffic officer, recklessly endangering safety, operating while intoxicated - sixth offense and operating while revoked.
The man's identity will be released, officials say, upon official charging by the Racine County District Attorney's office.
