Drunk Driver Arrested After Car Snaps Pole: Police
Police say a 41-year-old Oconomowoc man was arrested after he struck a pole near the intersection of S. Shepard Ave. and E. Centennial Dr.

OAK CREEK, WI -- Police in Oak Creek say a 41-year-old Oconomowoc man was arrested after he struck a pole near the intersection of S. Shepard Ave. and E. Centennial Drive on the night of Feb. 23.
According to Oak Creek police reports, the man was behind the wheel just after 9 p.m. on Feb. 23. As he was driving east on E. Centennial Drive, he tried going left onto S. Shepard Ave. when he took too wide of a turn.
Police say his car went into the ditch and struck a utility pole. WE Energies responded to the scene and told officers that the pole would need to be replaced, as it was snapped in half as a result of the accident.

According to police reports, the driver was cited for failing to keep his vehicle under control. Police also arrested him on suspicion of drunk driving after a preliminary breath test returned a blood alcohol concentration of 0.13, which is greater than the legal limit for drunk driving in Wisconsin.
