Drunk Driver Had 3 Half-Empty Whiskey Bottles In Car: Report

Police in Oak Creek said an officer pulled over a driver for failing to stop for a red traffic light.

OAK CREEK, WI — Authorities in Oak Creek say they arrested a man on suspicion of drunken driving after discovering that he had three half-full whiskey bottles in his car during a traffic stop.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, an officer on patrol at just before 2 a.m. on Jan. 7 in the 2300 block of E. College Ave. came upon a vehicle that did not stop for a red traffic light.

Police call logs stated the officer pulled the driver, a 25-year-old Milwaukee man, over in a traffic stop. When the officer walked up to the car, he saw that the driver had three half-full whiskey bottles inside the car.

According to police, the man refused a preliminary breath test, and was transported to a local hospital for a blood-alcohol test. He was also subjected to field sobriety tests.

Police said the driver was arrested and cited for having open intoxicants in the vehicle, failing to obey a traffic signal, and was also arrested on suspicion of his second drunken driving offense.
