Drunk Driver Was 'Texting Mom' Just Before Crash: Report
Reports indicated that the driver admitted to having three shots of Bacardi 151 rum about three hours before the crash.

OAK CREEK, WI -- A South Milwaukee man was arrested for drunk driving in Oak Creek after authorities say he drank Bacardi rum before he got behind the wheel and was texting his mother while on the road.
According to police reports, the driver of a vehicle was heading east on E. College Ave. while texting his mother. Reports indicated that as he was texting, he drove straight through the roundabout, went over the curb at the center, continued east, and then jumped another curb before hitting a berm off the road, at which point his car started on fire.
According to reports, the fire was extinguished by the Cudahy fire department, and sustained severe damage to the front end and the wheels.

Reports indicated that the driver admitted to having three shots of Bacardi 151 rum about three hours before the crash. When police subjected him to a preliminary breath test, the results returned a blood alcohol concentration of 0.18 - more than twice the legal limit for drunk driving in Wisconsin. Reports also stated he failed the field sobriety tests that were administered to him by officers.
