Elderly Driver Runs Over Good Samaritan Who Helped Her: Police

The Good Samaritan hobbled over to the officers, who assisted in summoning rescue personnel to transport her to the hospital, police say.

OAK CREEK, WI — A good Samaritan ended up going to the hospital after police in Oak Creek say her foot was run over by the elderly woman she stopped to help.

According to police reports, Esperanza Roche of Milwaukee was walking to Walmart just before 3 a.m. on May 28 when she saw an elderly woman in a car with her walker hanging out of the rear passenger door.

According to reports, Esperanza walked over to the elderly woman's car, asked if she needed help, and the woman asked her if she could push the walker back into the car. Esperanza pushed it back in and closed the door.

Reports stated that the woman pulled away and accidentally ran over her foot with the passenger rear tire of her vehicle.

Police reports stated that she did not have her cell phone with her, but spotted Franklin police parked across the street. She hobbled over to the officers, who assisted in summoning rescue personnel to transport her to the hospital.

Reports stated that her foot was "massively swollen and purple." When she talked with police, she said that the woman, described as having white skin, white hair, a red patch on her right cheek and was driving a four-door red Toyota, did not intentionally run her foot over, she believed.
