Emerald Ash Borer Still in Oak Creek's Crosshairs

More than 300 trees will be treated this fall.

Oak Creek is continuing its efforts to fight the invasive emerald ash borer by spending another $8,000 to treat 330 trees this fall.

Oak Creek will spend a total of about $13,000 treating ash trees this year. Half of that money will be reimbursed by a grant from the state Department of Natural Resources.

Oak Creek has a seven-year plan to treat, remove and replace the thousands of ash trees in the city. Letters have been sent to residents in treatment areas explaining the process and encouraging them to treat or remove ash trees on their property.
