Summer of China Exhibit at Milwaukee Art Museum until September 11

Summer of China is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see objects and artifacts from the Forbidden City in China.

The 5 exhibit show, held at the Milwaukee Art Museum until September 11, is part of a year-long celebration honoring the 10th anniversary of  the Museum’s Santiago Calatrava–designed Quadracci Pavilion.

The highlight of the show is unquestionably The Emperor's Private Paradise: Treasures from the Forbidden City, an exhibit that has already been raved about in the Boston Globe, New York Times, and Los Angeles Times.  MAM is one of only three museums in the world to host The Emperor's Private Paradise. There are 4 other related exhibits also on display.

To supplement the learning and understanding, the Museum is hosting a wide range of China-related programming options for you and your family.  The kids might enjoy practicing the ancient art of calligraphy using very modern technology; you may learn pick up new facts and impressions at one of the many scheduled lectures.

Everyone is invited to join the Museum in celebrating this very old—yet very modern—civilization.
