"Fighting 4 Her" to Host Self-Defense Classes for Women

Area group has goal to equip women and teens with skills needed to be safe

Women and teens interested in learning self-defense tactics have an opportunity to learn skills needed to stay safe in a wide range of potentially dangerous circumstances.

A free self-defense course for women and girls 13 years and older will be hosted by certified Safe International Instructor William Stedman on Saturday, April 30 on Racine's Gateway Technical College campus.

Stedman said the two courses offered Saturday, April 30 will be focused on verbal diffusion during potentially dangerous situations, as well as physical strategies.

Safe International has trained over 195,000 people to this day. While giving awareness to human trafficking issues in Southeastern Wisconsin with a goal to equip local women and teens with the confidence and skills needed to stay safe.

Fighting 4 Her is sponsered by the Racine Coalition Against Human Trafficking, Safe International, and SafeStart: Teen Dating Violence Awareness Program through Women’s Resource Center.
