Fire Causes $3,000 Damage At Preferred Carrier Logistics: Police

Oak Creek police responded to the Preferred Carrier Logistics building for a report of a fire.

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police responded to the Preferred Carrier Logistics building on the 6900 block of S. 6th St. in Oak Creek on Nov. 8 just after midnight on a fire call.

According to Oak Creek police reports, a company employee called 911, reporting that the oil heater caught on fire and that an evacuation of the building was in progress.

Reports indicated that several employees attempted to extinguish the fire prior to the Oak Creek Fire Department's arrival. Police reported that there was only smoke coming from the heater upon their arrival.

Police said the damage was contained to the oil heater, valued at $3,000. Oak Creek fire personnel checked the unit and determined that the employees were safe to return to work inside the building.
