Fire Engulfs Car On Chicago Road: Report

First responders came upon a vehicle on fire, fully engulfed in traffic. Reports stated that the vehicle's driver was out of the car.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police, and fire responded to E. Highway 100 and S. Chicago Road just after 11 a.m. on June 29 on a report of a car fire in traffic.

According to Oak Creek police reports, first responders came upon a vehicle on fire, fully engulfed in traffic. Reports stated that the vehicle's driver was out of the car.

The driver stated he was driving home from Chicago east on Highway 100 when he saw smoke coming from under the hood of his car. When he stopped the car, he went to check on the engine and saw the entire front end had caught fire, according to reports.

Police reports stated that the vehicle and multiple medications contained in pill bottles were destroyed, causing an estimated $1,500 in losses.
