Flu Clinic Planned At Oak Creek High School Next Week
Anyone older than 6 months and younger than 18 is eligible for free flu shots Thursday at Oak Creek High School.
OAK CREEK, WI — Free flu shots will be available for most people under 18 in Oak Creek on Thursday at a clinic planned for Oak Creek High School.
The clinic is scheduled for 3-5 p.m. at 340 E. Puetz Road in Oak Creek, the Oak Creek Health Department posted on Facebook. The clinic's registration page said to park near the gym and to follow signs for the clinic. All children older than 6 months and younger than 18 are eligible to receive a flu shot at the clinic, according to the registration page.
Registration ahead of time online is required to get the flu shot at next week's clinic.

Children under 16 will need a parent or guardian present for the appointment. All children will need a consent form for the shot, the registration page said.

Those who have tested positive or come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days are ineligible for a flu shot at the clinic, according to the registration page.
The 2020-21 flu season is the second Oak Creek residents have faced while also fighting the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention predict that during this flu season, both viruses will once again be spreading at the same time.
Influenza, commonly called "the flu," is a highly contagious respiratory disease that can lead to serious illness, hospitalization or even death. Typical flu symptoms include fever, dry cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, headache, muscle aches and extreme fatigue.
