Food Truck Wednesday Returns To Oak Creek This Week

OAK CREEK, WI — Trying to find a solid dinner for Wednesday night that the whole family can enjoy without a fuss? Odds are there will be a meal for everyone at Drexel Town Square this Wednesday evening.

Over a dozen food trucks will take over Drexel Town Square 4-9 p.m. for Oak Creek's part of the Milwaukee Food Truck Tour, according to the city's website. The event will offer residents cuisine that ranges from Venezuelan arepas to barbecue, cheese and more.

Craft beer from One Barrel Brewing Company, live music and games will also accompany the food trucks, according to the Oak Creek website. The tour is ongoing. Wednesday will be the second appearance in Oak Creek — Food trucks will return on Aug. 25 and Sept. 29 as well.

Andrew Swofford, founder of the Food Truck Tour around Milwaukee told Patch which vendors that will be appearing this week at Drexel Town Square:

Rollin Smoke: A train caboose shaped trailer will serve barbecue and other smoked foods.

Frankie's: Greendale-based Frankie's offers American-Caribbean-African cuisine. Find jerk chicken and more at this truck, according to its website.

Tatar’s truck (Meat on the Street): This truck offers exactly as it sounds — various types of meats, kebabs and more will be offered, according to its website.

Frida’s Cocina: Named after Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, this truck offers tacos, churros and more, according to its Facebook.

Jakarta Café: Find organic and healthy food at this truck that offers its own style of Indonesian food, according to its Facebook.

Two Brothers: This American food joint offers gyros, hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches and burgers, according to a recent interview the truck had with OnMilwaukee.com.

Roll MKE: Find burgers and sandwiches of every type at this truck, according to its Facebook.

Pigtailz MKE: A relatively new food truck that sells pork tacos and more, according to its Facebook.

Riley’s Good Dogs: This Milwaukee-based hot dog joint offers just as it sounds — hot dogs of every type, including more traditional variants, and even some that are vegetarian.

Hardwood Café: A trailer clad in wood and made to look more like a cabin from up north than a food truck will offer barbecue favorites, its website said.

Littles BBQ: A Brown Deer based food truck that offers barbecue and other smoked foods, its website said.

Anytime Arepa: Anytime Arepa sells Venezuelan arepas, thick corn "tortilla" sandwiches with beans, meats and more stuffed inside, according to its Facebook.

WI Fried Cheese Curds: A vendor of cheese curds and frozen lemonade.

Say Cheese: This food truck will also be appearing at the event Wednesday.

The Food Truck Tour will take place at Drexel Town Square 4-9 p.m. in Oak Creek.
