Footprints Lead Police To Unwanted House Guest: Police

Police are reporting that an Oak Creek man jumped out of a second-story window to run from police, but he left footprints in the snow.

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police were dispatched to a home on the 800 block of Scenic Road on a report of a trespassing complaint.

According to police reports, the homeowner told police that a man had been entering the house without permission and found cigarettes in the basement and broken boards on windows just before 3 p.m. on Feb. 11.

Reports indicated that when officers arrived, they found that a screen had been pushed out of a second-floor window and found footprints leading away from the building.

According to reports, K9 officer Nox was called to the scene to pick up the track as it went from the backyard on Scenic Road north along S. Wintergreen Drive, then east onto Prairie View Drive and then onto S. McGraw Drive. According to reports, officers found the man in question walking on E. Fitzsimmons Road at S. McGraw Drive.

When police talked with the man, police said that he admitted to jumping out of the second-story window and running away from the home. The man said that he was allowed entry into the house by the property owner - a claim that the property owner denied. He was taken into custody and charged with trespassing and a probation violation.
