Former OCHS Star Butler Having Strong Season in Minors

Derailed by injuries, the Oak Creek grad is trying to get his major-league dreams back on track.

MiLB.com has an interesting story about former Oak Creek High School baseball star Tony Butler.

Butler tells reporter Curt Rallo that he re-dedicated himself to baseball shortly after the Packers' Super Bowl win, moving to Phoenix and eventually getting an opportunity in the Seattle Mariners' system.

This year, the southpaw is 1-1 with a 3.04 earned-run average with the single-A Clinton (Iowa) LumberKings - a solid start to his comeback attempt.

Butler was a third-round pick in 2006 but his career has been plagued by injuries. With the Knights, he was the 2005 state player of the year.
