Getting the Most Out of Patch: Events

Hello readers, it's your friendly, neighborhood Brand Ambassador once again. I just wanted to highlight a few of our site's features that you may or may not be aware of. Borrowing liberally from a much more well-known B.A. - I pity the fool who doesn't take advantage of what Patch has to offer!

At the top of our homepage you'll find the "Events" section under which you can browse our list of community happenings by various categories or date.

Here you'll see events posted from all around the area, from Oak Creek to Cudahy to downtown. Adding your own event to the calender is no hassle whatsoever and should take you very little time.

To submit an event, you’ll need to create a Patch account (which you can do from your Patch homepage). Once that’s done, you can either click the Post Your Own Event button below the events calendar on the main page, or click the Events tab at the top, and then the Add an Event button on the new page that comes up.  

Fill in the fields as needed for the event, and when you’re done, click Post My Event. Patch wants to provide as much information as possible about the things going on in town. If you know of something open to the public that should be included, feel free to add it. 

This doesn't just mean official events put on by businesses and organizations either. Add your block party, rummage or anything else you want to make people in the community aware of.

Businesses utilizing the calender might also consider posting dates of sales under our "Events". They may not be anything out of the ordinary, but people sure get excited about them.

When posting your sale, you'll be given the option to make it a reoccurring event, so you can advertise it as being for a whole weekend, week, or month etc.. Also, feel free to make Patch part of your deal by offering special discounts to those who mention seeing your event posted on our site.

Just know that Oak Creek Patch is your playground. We want to make it the very best community resource it can be, but we need your help. We are giving you the tools you need to increase business and overall community awareness and it's all free.
