Hope Yet For The Rafters?

The Rafters Steakhouse, closed since the spring of 2010, may reopen yet.

The restaurant, 7228 S. 27th St., took a step in that direction by asking for a renewal of its alcohol license. The Oak Creek Common Council on Tuesday unanimously approved the request.

Deputy City Clerk Christa Miller said the restaurant's agent, who was not at the meeting, is hopeful it will open back up.

Rafters was a fixture in Oak Creek for 50 years before closing last spring due to a "family emergency," according to a sign on the store window. The business later posted on its website it would reopen in September, but it has still remained closed.
